Raptors Assault squad - progress to date

Well I needed some pics for a "Tale of X Gamers" (for which I'll only be getting half points since they don't even have painted jump packs yet) so I figured I'd post them up for you to see. I'd hoped to have these guys done by now, but I still need to fix up the jump packs and prime them. Once that's done, it should only take one night to finish up.

I've also added a poll at the top of the page, please vote for the green colour you think I should use for the bases - I'm currently leaning towards Catachan Green;
Far left = Catachan Green
Left = Dark Angels Green
Right = Woodland Green
Far right = Goblin Green

I'd go for the Goblin Green - first choice was the Catachan Green, but from your pic it looks to close to the colour of the models. Personally, I think the Woodland Green's a tad bright (and consequently the DA Green looks too dark). The Goblin Green's a good sort of midway-value, while still contrasting with the paintjob on the figs.

Be interesting to see how they turn out finished.

I like the woodland green. But I like my bases to pop my model. The brightness might make the model standout better. At least...that's what I thought when I looked at the picture.

I'd say one of the middle greens, maybe not goblin, its a bit bright, but snot. Are you just going to paint the bases? Also, Is karl hosting another tale of gamers?

I vote for real basing. even if it's just some sand and then some patches of static grass, they will look so much better than just having flat painted bases.

Personally, I like the Goblin Green. Catachan is too close to the mini's paint job, Dark Angel is too dark, and the Woodland is almost jarringly vivid. I agree with Jeremy, though - real basing would be better yet, and it takes very little time to do.

I like the Catachan, but - as above - it's too close.

I used to have all of mine just DA green, but I really came to regret it later and went back to base them all. Funnily enough, you can still see one of them in my post from yesterday!

Therefore I too agree with Jeremy...but go for something really really swift. PVA glue + sand + paint + drybrush will take no time at all; I use GW's rubble - which is great except you have to spend time ensuring it's all set in the glue properly.

Guys, C'MON. OBVIOUSLY I will do real basing. But I wasn't going to paint those bases all different colours - just vote on the colour please :)

PS. Thomas, no this is not to do with 2HD, it's an online toronto thing through Warseer.
